Season’s Greetings from us all at South East Dance As we prepare to close the shutters and batten down the hatches at South East Dance headquarters for 2018, we’d like to wish you all a very happy and peaceful festive season! Join with us in mentally parcelling up Brexit, placing it firmly behind the Christmas tree and having as stress-free a time of it as possible.

It’s been a difficult year for the organisation but we end it on a positive note with the announcement of Cath James as Artistic Director and Rachel Gibson as Executive Director. Our memorial fundraising campaign launched after the untimely death of Jamie Watton, CEO and Artistic Director of South East Dance from 2009 – 2018, has already topped £12,000 - a fitting tribute to Jamie’s vision and determination to realise The Dance Space, and a considerable boost to our aim of raising £100,000 by the time the building opens in 2020. A heartfelt thank you to all of you who have donated to The Jamie Watton Fund to date; please continue to spread the word, and let’s keep those donations coming in.
South East Dance Fringe Bursary winner announced!

We had a superb response to our call out with a number of really high calibre submissions.

Open conversations about The Dance Space
On Wednesday 28 November, we invited local people, arts enthusiasts and independent artists from across the region to join us for an informal chat about what The Dance Space will offer. As we countdown to doors opening in early 2020, we’re keen to have a lively dialogue about how the building will benefit the city and the region as a whole and what you’d like to see happening within it
