We are the leading dance development organisation creating, presenting and distributing dance film and video in the UK. We have an outstanding international reputation, our films are groundbreaking and win awards, and our partnerships are diverse, crossing from the public to the private sector. We have been championing screen dance for the last ten years and have developed and refined our initiatives in consultation with artists and stakeholders.

The current screen dance programme of work encompasses commissioning, youth projects, artist fellowships, consulting, presenting and distributing work.

What is Screen Dance?

Our definition of screen dance is 'dance made specifically for the camera, for presentation as a single screen film or video'.

South East Dance developed an artistic development opportunity that involved a reciprocal exchange of four artists, two from the UK and two from Argentina, with the aim of sharing artistic practice to enrich and develop the screen dance art form.
