Lone Dances

Commission 1 (2008)
Lone Dances, a two-year programme to commission a series of dances exploring the form of the solo, created by a professional choreographer and performed by a non-trained performer, experimenting with our approach to creative community dance by stripping the process down to a one-to-one relationship between choreographer and performer.
Still Life with Fiona was premiered at the South East Dance 10th Anniversary party in 2008.
"The Lone Dance project is a shining example of great community dance. The final performance was a real credit to Fiona and Ginny and a real joy to behold. Breath taking." Audience Member

Commission 2 (2009)
Professional choreographer, Jane Mason created a series of solo dances, performed by young, non-professional male dancers aged 18-20 years olds.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity enabled them to produce and perform movement that was totally individual to them and to explore the form of 'the solo' with a professional, experienced chorographer.
