Forward Motion is a package of high quality British screen dance expertly curated into three programmes. Featuring historic, seminal and ground breaking films, Forward Motion creates a moving snapshot of Britain’s prolific screen dance output. The programmes are available for screenings worldwide fully supported by extensive technical and marketing guidance. The full collection includes Lloyd Newson’s multi-award winning The Cost Of Living, introduced by Akram Khan; Lea Anderson’s rarely seen gem Sardinas; the evocative Vanishing Point, by Rosemary Butcher and the exquisite Hands by Jonathan Burrows and Adam Roberts. Other high profile contributors include Russell Maliphant, Shobana Jeyasingh and Michael Clark introducing, amongst others, Chris Cunningham’s music video for Portishead’s Only You.
Forward Motion brings together 22 films along with interviews and insight into artistic practice. Forward Motion demonstrates the diversity and durability of British screen dance and the influence it’s had throughout the world. The variety of films is superb, from the well know dance films which most people will be able to identify to the obscure, which provoke discussion and debate.
