Associate Artists Programme

South East Dance is currently developing its Associate Artists Programme, due to be launched in September 2009. This two year pilot, partly made possible from additional funding from Arts Council England, will see artists benefit from a package of financial and administrative support in addition to collaboration with a dedicated Creative Producer. We will shortly be recruiting 3 artists whose work contributes to both the creative and cultural diversity of the region through an open application process. To register an interest in the Associate Artists Programme please contact Emily James.

Face to Face

Face to Face has enabled us to consult with over 100 stakeholders working in dance across the region. It's been a fascinating process and will help us to shape our plans for the future. Not only has Face to Face reminded us of the range of dance taking place in the South East, but also of its creative strength. We are in the process of compiling a short report, broadly outlining some of the challenges we face as a sector. To receive an email alert when the report is available for download please contact Emily James.

Project Development Surgery

On the 8th October South East Dance will be leading a one day surgery focusing on Project Development - from concept to production. Guest contributors will include independent producer Gwen Van Spijk and Jan De Schynkel from Arts Council England. The day is targeted to emerging artists and recent graduates and will include practical sessions on proposal development, pitching your project and fundraising. The workshop is free to South East based artists and travel bursaries are available on request. To secure a place please contact

Emily James.

In response to feedback from our Face to Face meetings, South East Dance is currently developing Flourish, our region wide programme of training and professional development. Flourish will include classes, workshops and seminars to promote connectivity, discourse and partnership across the South East. We would like artists and producers to play a stronger role in curating Flourish and are inviting proposals for artist led programmes to take place throughout 2010.
