Nightingale Nights

Nightingale Nights ran two events in 2006 to provide a a critical debate and discussion forum for artists and practitioners working in the field of dance film and video.  We aimed to provide an opportunity for networking, artistic discussion and debate around current trends and topical issues.

On Saturday 20 May, Professor Liz Aggiss chaired the first of these nights. Hosted by South East Dance at Brighton's most specialist dance theatre - The Nightingale - the enthusiastically-attended forum was the perfect way to kick-start this series of events.

The second Nightingale Nights took place on Wednseday 18 October and was again chaired by Professor Liz Aggiss. This session focused on the recent Opensource and ADF video dance conferences by guest speakers Katrina McPherson, Alex Reuben and Billy Cowie. There was also a screening and discussion of the 3 new dance films developed for Carousel’s Rock Opera by Miriam King and Simon Wilkinson.

We hope you can join us at our next event, now titled 'Dance For Camera Nights'.
